Michigan Pain Society This organization originated in Mid-Michigan during the late winter of 2005.

Startup was funded by Ligand and Organon Pharmaceuticals.

Several Lansing area physicians recognized the need for a supportive collegiality among treating healthcare providers and have proposed this Michigan Pain Society.

We intend to promote the safe treatment of pain and suffering in our patients. This web site is intended to facilitate communications between its members and other prospective healthcare providers interested in treating pain.

During our first meeting, we chose to meet monthly on the last Monday of each month. We intend to meet in a casual but private meeting room in a Lansing area restaurant.

We intend to welcome and solicit participation from any and all pain managers in the Mid Michigan area. We hope to establish a supportive environment for the challenging role providers fulfill when treating pain patients: whether mild or severe, acute or chronic, terminal or recovering, malignant or non-malignant, brazen or docile.
