Michigan Pain Society
Multidisciplinary peer-to-peer support network for prividers and industry allies striving to better treat patients in pain.
We believe it is imperative for physicians to treat pain. Undertreated pain leads to suffering that impairs quality of life, wellness of body / mind, and functional capacity to live. A versatile clinician's toolbox requires many tools: including cognitive / behavioral techniques, high quality pharmaceuticals, diverse functional modalities, and direct clinician body interventions.
Our society offers a forum to share and debate the strategies, techniques, and methods we can employ. We explore and refine new tools and approaches to patient care. We continue to study pain and suffering so we can become more wise in treating patients. We intend to share educational and reference resources necessary for healthy pain management.
At our meetings, collegiality among providers allows us to learn from each others' successes and failures. We want our web site to reflect resources and support for the humane treatment of pain.
